Directions to Spuyten Duyvil, Riverdale Start

By Subway:

Take the A train to Dykman/Broadway or #1 train to Dykman/Nagle Avenue. Ride west, along Dykman, to the end of Dyckman Street and proceed to the right into Inwood Hill Park, follow park path straight into park, past ball fields. Cross bridge over Amtrak tracks (there are two flights of steps). Proceed along park path. Bear left at fork in path (don't go under highway). At next fork in path bear right (uphill, steep climb). Cross Henry Hudson Bridge (on sidewalk, FOR DETOUR SEE BELOW). Take a left onto Henry Hudson Parkway Service Road. Take a left and quick right onto Kappock Street (at the intersection of Independence Avenue). Enter Henry Hudson Memorial Park, follow park path to Parks Building (bathrooms).

By Bike:

From Upper Manhattan:
Take the West Side Greenway to end (caution, there are shallow steps at end of Greenway). Go left at the bottom of the steps onto the sidewalk. Take a left onto Staff Street (caution, steep downhill). Take a left onto Dyckman Street. At the end of Dyckman Street proceed to the right into Inwood Hill Park, follow park path straight into park, past ball fields. Cross bridge over Amtrak tracks (there are two flights of steps). Proceed along park path. Bear left at fork in path (don't go under highway). At next fork in path bear right (uphill, steep climb). Cross Henry Hudson Bridge (on sidewalk, FOR DETOUR SEE BELOW). Take a left onto Henry Hudson Parkway Service Road. Take a left and quick right onto Kappock Street (at the intersection of Independence Avenue). Enter Henry Hudson Memorial Park, follow park path to Parks Building (bathrooms).

From northern New Jersey:
Take GW Bridge path. Take E. 178th Street to Broadway. Left on Broadway to Dykeman Street. At the end of Dyckman Street proceed to the right into Inwood Hill Park, follow park path straight into park, past ball fields. Cross bridge over Amtrak tracks (there are two flights of steps). Proceed along park path. Bear left at fork in path (don't go under highway). At next fork in path bear right (uphill, steep climb). Cross Henry Hudson Bridge (on sidewalk, FOR DETOUR SEE BELOW). Take a left onto Henry Hudson Parkway Service Road. Take a left and quick right onto Kappock Street (at the intersection of Independence Avenue). Enter Henry Hudson Memorial Park, follow park path to Parks Building (bathrooms).

DETOUR – Fewer Stairs:

Take the West Side Greenway to end (caution, there are shallow steps at end of Greenway). Go left at the bottom of the steps onto the sidewalk. Take a left onto Staff Street (caution, steep downhill). Take a right onto Dyckman Street. Take a left (north) onto Broadway. Cross Broadway Bridge (caution, dangerous grating on south side of Bridge roadway, you can also walk bike on Bridge sidewalk). Take a left onto West 230th Street. Take a left onto Irwin Ave (at end of West 230th St, uphill). Continue ahead uphill on Johnson Avenue. Take a sharp right onto Kappock Street. Follow Kappock Street uphill, thru underpass. Left into Henry Hudson Park just past Independence Ave intersection. Follow park path to Parks Building (bathrooms).

From Yonkers or Riverdale:

Take Riverdale Avenue to Henry Hudson Parkway service Road. Follow to Kappock Street. Bear right onto Kappock Street, the entrance is on your left.

By Metro-North:

From Manhattan or western Westchester:
Hudson line to Spuyten Duyvil. Ride (or walk) up STEEP hill to Palisade Avenue. Go left to Kappock Street, take a right. Henry Hudson Park start is on your right. (Don't go through the underpass.)

By Car:

[Note: free parking is limited here; garages are available]

From Riverdale or Western Westchester:
[Saw Mill Parkway to] Henry Hudson Parkway to Kappock Street. Follow service road, then bear right onto Kappock Street; the entrance is on your left.

From Manhattan West Side or New Jersey

[George Washington Bridge or West Street to] Henry Hudson Parkway north (Route 9A). Cross Toll Bridge ($2.00) Get off at first exit, Kappock Street. At light, make first legal U-turn. Go under the underpass on Kappock Street, the entrance is on your left.
